Overview

Big O General Service Technicians perform service and installation activities associated with store products and services in an accurate and timely manner.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Drain oil and change oil filter; lubricate vehicles; install, rotate and balance tires; check and fill fluids; replace filters and lights.
  • Unload tires and supplies from transport trucks and deliveries.
  • Inspect disposed tires and store or dispose of tires properly.
  • Clean facilities, tools, and equipment; stock shelves.
  • Greet and thank customers courteously; provide fast and friendly service.
  • Promote sales by explaining benefits of services and products; suggestive selling; handle sales duties including pricing and promotions.
  • Maintain store appearance according to standards.
  • Safely operate customer vehicles, including those with manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Complete required training timely.
  • Follow work schedules and clocking procedures accurately.
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Assist in training new employees as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to company policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
  • Must be at least 17 years old (with parental consent).
  • Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials.
  • Proficient with computers and office machinery.
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles safely.
  • Effective communication with customers.
  • Willingness to work with hazardous materials and in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Comply with PPE regulations.
  • Good senses of vision, hearing, speech, and smell.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Availability for holidays, weekends, and after-hours work.
  • Fluent in English for communication.
  • Meet pre-employment requirements, including screenings.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Note: Ability to obtain a current Motor Vehicle Inspection within 6 months for Missouri stores.

Preferred Skills
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace.
