Job Description

The General Service Technician role is full-time or part-time, hourly, based on business needs. Responsibilities include performing routine vehicle repairs and maintenance per company standards and manufacturer specifications, delivering exceptional 5-star service through effective communication, and meeting guest expectations for time and quality.

The hourly rate ranges from minimum wage up to $19.00, with additional compensation and incentives based on experience.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently and accurately according to Monro standards.
  2. Perform tire services such as wheel removal, balancing, patching, mounting, and TPMS repairs.
  3. Conduct vehicle services including oil changes, lubrications, basic maintenance, and battery testing/installation.
  4. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, identifying and communicating additional needed services.
  5. Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking.
  6. Maintain store cleanliness and ensure it is guest-ready at all times.
  7. Perform services in compliance with safety standards, including wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
  8. Test drive vehicles following Monro’s policies, observing traffic laws and safety protocols.
  9. Adhere to company policies, governmental standards, and safety procedures.
  10. Maintain technical knowledge through Monro University training modules.
  11. Operate and maintain equipment safely, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Automotive training or equivalent experience.
  3. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
  4. Own basic tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work occurs in an automotive shop environment with exposure to noise, weather, chemicals, and physical demands including lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
