Job Description

The General Service Technician role is full-time or part-time and is an hourly position based on the needs of the business. The technician is responsible for performing basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance services in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role requires delivering exceptional 5-star service by effectively communicating vehicle issues and solutions, while ensuring guest expectations for time and quality are met.

The hourly wage ranges from minimum wage up to $19.00. This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives based on experience.

Responsibilities include:

1. Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently and accurately according to Monro standards.
2. Perform tire services such as wheel removal, balancing, patching/plugging, mounting, installation, and TPMS repair.
3. Conduct vehicle services including lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (e.g., bulb, wiper blade, filter replacements), battery testing, and installations.
4. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional service needs.
5. Assist in inventory management by pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
6. Maintain the store’s cleanliness and ensure it is guest-ready, adhering to Monro standards.
7. Perform services following safety standards, including wheel torque, oil safety, and compliance procedures.
8. Test drive vehicles according to Monro’s policy, using designated routes while observing traffic and safety laws.
9. Adhere to company policies, governmental standards, and safety procedures, including environmental and OSHA standards.
10. Maintain technical proficiency through timely completion of training courses.
11. Operate and maintain all equipment safely, including lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
