Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers is the pre-eminent automotive maintenance provider in the nation with over 350 locations across 21 states, leading our industry through excellence, innovation, and growth. Our locations offer fast oil change bays and serve as a one-stop shop with certified technicians providing various mechanical and tire services.

The General Service Technician is responsible for providing quality service and vehicle repairs efficiently. This role aligns with the Company mission and core values, contributing to team success.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Change oil and filters in cars and light trucks
2. Install, repair, and rotate tires
3. Inspect and top off engine fluids
4. Lubricate frontend parts as needed
5. Perform vehicle inspections following a checklist of potential trouble spots such as belts, hoses, and brakes
6. Safely move and operate customer vehicles within service bays
7. Maintain positive customer relationships
8. Foster productive relationships with co-workers and management
9. Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
10. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
11. Represent the organization professionally, projecting trust, honesty, and respect at all times

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
2. One year or more of experience in basic car care (helpful but not necessary)
3. Customer-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team
4. Mechanical inclination
5. Valid driver’s license
6. Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
8. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building trust and relationships
9. Willingness to work Saturdays

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing, stooping, and bending
• Occasional exertion of 50-100 lbs of force and frequent exertion of 10-25 lbs
