Role Description

The General Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales department and driving revenue growth across all station platforms. This full-time, on-site role in Augusta, GA oversees local and national sales, manages a team of account executives, and sets effective sales strategies and goals. Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing sales plans, coaching and mentoring sales staff, managing key client relationships, and ensuring optimal inventory and pricing strategies. The General Sales Manager collaborates closely with station leadership, marketing, and programming teams to create integrated advertising solutions. The role also includes forecasting, reporting, and monitoring performance to meet and exceed revenue targets while maintaining strong advertiser satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in media, advertising, or broadcast sales, including leading sales teams and managing key accounts.
• Strong skills in sales strategy, revenue forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining client relationships, negotiating agreements, and developing customized advertising solutions.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate sales professionals, with experience in recruiting and talent development.
• Solid understanding of television, digital, and multi-platform advertising, including ratings, audience metrics, and inventory management.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience using CRM systems and sales‑related software; proficiency with standard office productivity tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Previous management experience in a broadcast or media environment strongly preferred.
