Overview

Parts Development Interior & Exterior System Assistant Manager. This role leads purchasing activities for Direct Materials and MRO products and services at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, LLC, focusing on cost, quality and service; manages supplier negotiations; and drives commodity development, sourcing, budget management, and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all purchasing activities (S/R Review with ENG, RFQ Release, Quotation Analysis, Recommendation) related to cost, quality and service for Direct Materials, MRO products and services at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, LLC.


• Manage commercial negotiations with suppliers and mitigate commercial risk.


• Actively lead the commodity development, sourcing/negotiations, budget management (Saving/Material Cost) and interface with supplier or internal counterpart.


• Establish/strengthen supplier relationships for better alignment.


• Manage commodity development, quality and parts procurement from both local and import parts.


• Strive to drive improvement to the purchasing organization’s processes.


• Work with critical suppliers, assisting them in developing a short-term ‘Build and Ship’ plan that supports production at the HMGMA assembly plant and focusing on a long-term supply plan for critical components.

Major Responsibilities

• Find the local potential suppliers in NA and select the most competitive supplier for EV programs.


• Negotiate with suppliers for the best material and tooling cost to achieve the vehicle target cost.


• Develop all the commodities with sourced supplier meeting required specification and development timing.


• Manage material logistics from supplier and prevent disruptions in the flow of production parts.


• Constantly develop new technologies and processes.


• Develop purchasing strategies with Engineering and Suppliers to ensure secure supply at best cost.

What you will bring to the role

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, Administration, or other related areas.


• Training / Certification: Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation preferred.
