Job Description

Introduction

Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead their thriving small animal practice in Mason, Ohio. This 5-DVM hospital provides comprehensive care for companion animals. The ideal candidate is a passionate and collaborative leader ready to mentor a dedicated team and shape clinical excellence.

Working Hours / Rota

The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It is closed on Sundays. This is a full-time position.

Role Description And Responsibilities

The Medical Director will spend 80–90% of their time providing veterinary care and 10–20% in leadership duties. Clinical responsibilities include diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and client communication. Leadership duties encompass mentoring associates, setting clinical standards, managing DVM performance and scheduling, leading doctor meetings, supporting compliance, and partnering with the Practice Manager on operational and cultural initiatives. The role is open to experienced veterinarians with a strong interest in leadership and professional development.

Practice Details

The facility includes five exam rooms and is equipped for advanced surgical procedures, dental care, laser therapy, and pain management. The practice is designed to support continuous learning and a high standard of medical care, with access to structured leadership development through a larger network.

The hospital is home to 5 DVMs supported by a collaborative and experienced team. The work environment is culture-driven, focused on mentorship, teamwork, and individual development, with a strong commitment to client service and medical excellence.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
