The Chemours Company in New Johnsonville, Tennessee, is seeking a General Operator to operate and maintain equipment, follow safety procedures, and participate in emergency response. The position begins on a 40-hour day schedule and transitions to a 12-hour rotating shift with overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess a valid, current driver’s license.
• Must have mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift.
• Ability to frequently lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to wear respirator and PPE.
• Must be able to climb stairs and work in all weather.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Capable of learning quickly and working in a team environment.

Responsabilités

• Operate and maintain operating equipment and processes within the area.
• Adhere to safety standards and follow emergency procedures.
• Operate process units handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials per SOPs.
• Complete daily rounds, record notes, generate work orders and inspect for hazards.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on process equipment.
• Conduct routine housekeeping of equipment and grounds.
• Collect samples, enter results into the system, calibrate in‑area lab equipment.
• Assist with confined space entry, lockout/tagout, hot work permits, and line breaks.
• Provide peer coaching and training for new Operator personnel after training completes.
• Operate forklifts and other motive equipment as required.
• Respond to emergency operations and support EOC/ERT as needed.
