Job summary

Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center – Chicago is seeking a part-time General Music Instructor in the Arts & Education Department. The role involves teaching introductory group music classes for ages 6–14, developing curriculum and assessments, and fostering community partnerships under the Gospel & Music Fine Arts Manager.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Music (or equivalent) with 3 years (5 preferred) of teaching experience and demonstrated curriculum development ability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Music or equivalent qualified performance experience.
• Three years teaching experience required, five preferred in classroom or private/group lessons.
• Experience in curriculum development considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach group music lessons for after-school program and summer day camp.
• Design and implement curriculum, assessments and lesson plans.
• Develop partnerships with schools and organizations for music programming.
• Participate in recruitment and outreach efforts.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Willing to teach additional classes/workshops as needed.
