The General Manager, Venue Operations provides leadership and administrative oversight for the Clark State Performing Arts Center (PAC), Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center (HBC), and other college activities as needed. This position plays a key role in strengthening the College's relationships with both internal and external communities by delivering exceptional customer service, effective communication, and clear direction. The General Manager ensures the efficient and effective operation of the PAC and HBC facilities, emphasizing coordination, collaboration, and punctuality to maintain the quality of programs and operations.
Shift: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm. Significant evening and weekend work.

Works with the Executive Vice President, Business Affairs to develop the strategic direction for the Performing Arts Center (PAC) and Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center (HBC). Translates the strategic direction into exemplary operations with an unwavering focus on customer service. Supervises full-time and part-time team of venue professionals in performing arts center and conference center roles with a venue management approach.
Maintains the optimum condition of the PAC and HBC and achieves the most productive utilization of their space. Recommends facility and equipment maintenance and upgrades as necessary to ensure efficient and safe operation.
Support Clark State administration and programming team to develop and deliver a balanced, collaborative, comprehensive, and financially viable season of performing arts and entertainment programs and educational activities that support the College's commitment to our diverse communities. Collaborates and coordinates with Resident Arts Groups to maximize impact and minimize overlap of programming.
Increases the PAC's visibility, image, and role in the internal and external communities. Champions the PAC and HBC's key roles in economic development and tourism for the region. Engages with local K-12 schools to strengthen access to arts for community and build future audience pipeline. Coordinates with the Executive Vice President, Business Affairs to promote the College through participation in appropriate local, state, regional and national professional and civic activities.
Supports CSC Foundation in their efforts to secure grants, cultivate donors, and obtain sponsorships that help to support the operations of the PAC and its impact in the community.
Oversees and protects the assets and financial affairs of the Centers, achieving an appropriate balance between revenue generation and fundraising. Develops and manages an operating budget in accordance with College policy and procedures and prepares appropriate financial and operational reports. Works collaboratively with the Business Office to set and achieve annual revenue goals.
Collaborates with the Marketing Department to plan and implement marketing campaigns. Cultivates and maintains positive media relationships. Develops and contributes to messaging and content as needed.
Develops, implements, and evaluates the rental policies and procedures for the Centers. Maintains exemplary relationships with renters in an effort to grow continued use of the facilities. Responsible for enforcement, oversight, etc. of rental agreements at either Center.
Supports Clark State events and initiatives across all locations as requested.
Acts as "manager-on-duty" and/or provides day-of-event support for Performing Arts Center, HBC and other designated sites' events and activities as needed.

A Bachelor's degree is required.
Requires travel to multiple campus locations; a valid driver's license and/or dependable transportation is required.
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
The work requires minor physical exertion such as short periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven surfaces, some recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. Job may require recurring lifting of lightweight objects with infrequent bending or stooping alternating with the lighter activities. Job requires minimal agility and dexterity.
