Job summary

World Equestrian Center in Ocala, FL is seeking a General Manager for Polo Pony Restaurant. You will lead all front-of-house and operations, drive service excellence, manage labor and costs, and mentor a high-performing team to deliver an elevated dining experience.

The role partners with culinary leadership to uphold menu quality and guest satisfaction, while ensuring regulatory compliance and a culture of hospitality across the venue.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years restaurant management experience, with 2 years in a General Manager or senior leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive guest satisfaction, and achieve financial goals.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, financial management, labor controls, and inventory.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English proficiently.
• Leadership, coaching, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and restaurant POS systems.
• Professional demeanor and appearance; able to work under pressure.
• ServSafe Food Manager Certification and alcohol service certification preferred or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for Polo Pony Restaurant operations, ensuring alignment with goals and service standards.
• Recruit, train, develop, coach, and evaluate restaurant team members and managers.
• Create and maintain a guest-focused culture delivering exceptional hospitality.
• Monitor and manage labor costs, operating expenses, and other expenditures to meet budgets.
• Drive revenue growth through staffing, service execution, upselling, and promotions.
• Collaborate with culinary leadership to maintain menu quality and guest satisfaction.
• Oversee inventory management, purchasing, product usage, and cost controls.
• Ensure facilities, equipment, and dining areas are clean and maintained.
• Analyze guest feedback and financial reports to identify improvements and actions.
• Develop and execute training to enhance service standards and product knowledge.
• Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and performance feedback to staff and supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, alcohol service, labor, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other outlets and departments for events and operations support.
• Respond professionally to guest concerns and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain a safe work environment following safety policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
