American Transportation seeks a dynamic General Manager to lead our Las Vegas, NV site. You will oversee drivers, dispatchers, maintenance and administrative staff, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and exceptional customer service.

This hands-on role requires strong leadership, P&L oversight, and the ability to coordinate across departments while building profitability and scalable operations for additional locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of management experience in transportation, logistics, or related industries.
• Valid CDL license with passenger endorsement (in good standing).
• Ability to obtain and maintain School Bus Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Strong knowledge of DOT, DOE, and other applicable federal/state regulations.
• Proven leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities.
• Experience in staff management, including hiring, scheduling, and discipline.

Summary

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead and oversee all operational functions at our Las Vegas, NV location. The General Manager will be responsible for the overall success of the site, including leadership of drivers, dispatchers, maintenance and administrative staff. This role requires a hands‑on leader who ensures safety, compliance, operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, profitability and exceptional customer service, while also supporting additional company locations as needed.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations at the Las Vegas location.
• Lead the interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, discipline, and termination of staff.
• Ensure proper employee orientation, training, and re‑training as needed.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance, conduct, and adherence to schedules.
• Promote and maintain high levels of employee morale and engagement.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and consistent communication across all departments.
• Conduct regular department meetings to ensure collaboration, accountability, and follow-through.
• Enforce all company policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
• Develop succession planning and ensure bench strength for critical roles.

Operations & Compliance

• Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of routes and trip execution.
• Oversee compliance with NHP, DOT, NTA, DOE, and other inspection or regulatory requirements.
• Confirm that all drivers meet licensing, certification, and safety requirements, including Hours of Service regulations.
• Ensure all required documentation is recorded, filed, and ready for inspections, renewals, and reporting.
• Partner with the Maintenance Department to ensure the fleet is safe, road‑ready, and properly supported for daily operations.
• Cover routes and trips when necessary.
• Maintain CDL license in good standing and obtain/maintain School Bus Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Implement safety programs, incident investigations, and corrective action plans.

Client & Business Development

• Ensure professional, responsive, and cordial communication with school districts, clients, and affiliates.
• Assist with lead generation and relationship‑building to support business growth.
• Acquire and negotiate with affiliates as needed, ensuring cost‑effective partnerships.
• Proactively identify opportunities to expand service offerings in the Las Vegas market.

Financial & Profitability Oversight

• Serve as the primary individual responsible for profitability of the Las Vegas hub.
• Develop, monitor, and adjust staffing models and payroll to align with a profitable and efficient operating structure.
• Track and analyze financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and margins.
• Implement cost controls without compromising safety or service quality.
• Prepare financial forecasts and report performance variances to the executive team.
• Enforce budget discipline across all departments.
• Implement and enforce company practices to prevent fraud, including but not limited to:
• Fuel usage
• Purchasing and credit card transactions
• Employee timekeeping
• Unapproved expenses or kickbacks
• Conduct periodic audits of operational and financial records.

Project & On‑Site Support

• Provide on‑site supervision for major projects, events, and vehicle moves.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Operations and executive team on strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate cross‑location resource sharing when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
