Job summary

Ferrellgas is developing the next generation of operational leaders through a General Manager Trainee program. You will learn propane operations, logistics, safety, and business management while rotating with experienced leaders across our nationwide network.

This is not a traditional assistant role; after about 12 months you may relocate, lead teams, and drive sales growth, with substantial P&L exposure and opportunities to advance to General Manager roles.

Qualifications

• Willingness to relocate after approximately 12 months in the development program is required.
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Growth‑minded, adaptable, and motivated to learn quickly
• Operational, logistics, transportation, service, or related leadership experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Learn all aspects of propane operations, logistics, safety, customer service, and business management
• Partner with experienced leaders to drive operational performance and team success
• Develop leadership skills through hands‑on training, coaching, and real‑world business experience
• Support sales growth, operational efficiency, and customer retention initiatives
• Gain exposure to budgeting, KPIs, workforce leadership, and P&L management
• Prepare for future General Manager opportunities within the company
