Job summary

Ferrellgas is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our team in achieving operational excellence and high customer satisfaction in Kansas. This role will guide on-site and remote operations, manage P&L, and drive market share through strategic planning.

The GM will develop customer relationships, optimize service delivery, and coach staff to improve performance while aligning with company goals and financial targets.

This individual will be responsible for inspiring both on-site and remote teams, managing operations, and capturing market share through strategic planning, customer relationship management, and performance optimization. Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Performance Management: Inspire and motivate both on-site and remote teams to embrace new opportunities, enhance performance, and capture increased market share. Drive team alignment with organizational goals and ensure a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth.
  • Operational Execution: Ensure the consistent execution of company standards, KPIs, and systems to measure performance. Develop and manage daily operations to achieve budgeted goals and enhance overall efficiency and profitability.
  • P&L and Business Reporting: Analyze and interpret P&L statements and other business reports to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities. Utilize financial data to make informed decisions and optimize business performance.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key customers at the local level. Interface with high-impact accounts to address their needs and ensure satisfaction, fostering long-term loyalty.
  • Service Delivery & Cost Management: Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute efficient service delivery routes that meet customer needs in a cost-effective manner. Monitor and adjust operations to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning & Business Development: Anticipate future business opportunities and challenges, incorporating them into the annual business plan. Drive business growth through proactive identification of market trends and customer demands.
  • Coaching & Development: Apply evidence-based management principles to coach and mentor team members, providing instruction for continuous improvement in key performance metrics. Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and innovation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, business management or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in an operations leadership role.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proven history of ethical business decision and integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on developing a positive rapport with company employees at all levels and outside constituents.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to take projects/tasks through to completion.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a customer-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated persistence to overcome obstacles and challenges with the ability to set and achieve challenging goals.
  • Demonstrated skills in data analysis, strategic planning, measurements, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

Work Environment:
  • This is a hands-on position, reporting to the Kansas City Service Center location daily. However, travel between district locations is required as needed.
  • The role may involve extended hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on peak season and customer needs.
