The ideal candidate will have at least two years in a large-volume dealership, strong leadership, and a proven ability to meet sales targets while managing staff and inventories efficiently.

Job Description

Southern Auto Group is expanding our Sales Departments throughout the Hampton Roads area and we are looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of General Manager within our team!

As an automotive General Manager with Southern Auto Group, you must consistently and profitably meet vehicle sales quotas through expert management and leadership of the sales team and by forecasting sales and maintaining proper inventory levels in terms of amount and vehicle types. In addition, the General Manager hires, trains, and monitors team member performance; resolves customer complaints; and helps with closings when necessary while overseeing growth and development.

The ideal candidate has some post‑secondary education (degree, coursework, certification, etc.), at least two years of experience in a large‑volume dealership, and some supervisory or management experience. Candidates must have a strong business acumen, sales aptitude, and a willingness to accept full accountability for sales targets whether hit or missed. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong leadership and motivational skills are essential.
