Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a supervisor for the 2nd shift to oversee the daily operation of a production area in Kentucky. You will ensure safe, efficient manufacturing of quality products in line with company policies, and provide leadership to supervisors and team members to meet production goals.

You will monitor attendance, payroll, safety and ergonomics, and promote improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with USDA and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 3+ years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields, quality, and USDA/OSHA regulations.
• Computer skills: Basic computer skills.
• Communication skills: Strong communication skills.
• Travel: As required.
• Supervisory responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.

Responsibilities

• Total operation of the assigned business area.
• Ensure safe and efficient manufacturing of quality products per company policies.
• Provide supervisors with information, materials, and training; monitor attendance, payroll, production, safety, and ergonomics.
• Promote new ideas and encourage development of ideas from team members.
• Oversee daily operation of the area; analyze non-routine problems and advise the Plant Manager.
• Ensure compliance with USDA, Federal and State regulations.
• Maintain operation including safety, yields, quality, team relations, turnover, attendance, discipline, payroll, staffing, line speeds.
