Qualifications
- Proven experience in facility management, hospitality, sports management, or club operations.
- Leadership experience managing teams in a customer-facing environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills; ability to handle a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with scheduling systems, point-of-sale platforms, or club management software preferred.
- Passion for racket sports (padel, squash, tennis, pickleball, etc.) is a major plus.

Position Overview
The General Manager oversees all day-to-day operations of PATL Charleston, ensuring an outstanding member and guest experience, efficient facility operations, strong program execution, and a high-performing staff. This role requires a combination of leadership, operational management, marketing savvy, and a passion for creating an engaged, vibrant racket-sports community.
The GM acts as the central point of communication between staff, coaches, members, and ownership, ensuring that PATL's standards and values are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Facility Management
- Ensure the facility is clean, well-maintained, safe, and running efficiently at all times.
- Oversee court scheduling, programming flow, and daily operational logistics.
- Manage vendor relationships, equipment inventory, and ordering.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures to support consistency across all departments.
- Lead, schedule, and supervise a team of approximately 10 employees, including coaches, front desk staff, event coordinators, and part-time personnel.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop staff members aligned with PATL's values of reliability, community, and professionalism.
- Conduct performance check-ins and maintain a positive, accountable work environment.
- Foster strong communication, teamwork, and a service-oriented culture.
Programming, Coaching, & Events
- Support the growth of padel, squash, and other racket-sports programming across all levels.
- Coordinate with coaching staff to ensure consistent quality of instruction and player experience.
- Oversee tournaments, leagues, mixers, junior programs, camps, exhibitions, and special events.
- Ensure programs are well-organized, marketed, staffed, and smoothly executed.
Membership & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with members, players, and the broader community.
- Ensure every member and guest receives a high-quality, welcoming experience.
- Address member questions, feedback, and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Help cultivate a fun, inclusive, sportsmanship-driven club culture.
- Manage budgets, payroll submission, and basic financial reporting.
- Monitor revenue streams including memberships, coaching, events, and court bookings.
- Support marketing and promotional efforts (events, social media, partnerships).
- Track KPIs and help ownership identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
