Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites is undergoing a major renovation and rebranding to position the property for long-term success. We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on General Manager to lead the hotel through this transformation in Honolulu.

The General Manager will be the primary strategic leader responsible for guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, and revenue generation, with a focus on delivering strong results while upholding brand standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hotel general manager or senior leadership experience.
• Proven results at Marriott/Hyatt/IHG/Hilton or equivalent brand.
• Strong financial acumen including P&L analysis, budgeting, and cost controls.
• Experience in revenue management, digital/e-commerce, and commercial strategy.
• Proficient in English; Japanese language preferred.

About this position

The 251-room Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites is entering an exciting new chapter, with a major renovation underway and a full rebranding and repositioning planned for 2027. We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on General Manager – Hotel Renovation & Rebranding at Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites to lead the hotel through this transformation and position the property for long-term success.

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is searching for a remarkable leader to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

The General Manager is the primary strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operations, including guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales, and revenue generation. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensuring implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations and increasing profit and market share.
• Holding the property leadership team accountable for strategy execution.
• Guiding professional development of the property leadership team and all team members.
• Ensuring sales engines are leveraged.
• Building owner loyalty through proactive communication, setting and managing expectations, and delivering solid business results.
• Being active in the local community to build strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers.

You Are:

• A highly experienced General Manager with 3+ years of hotel leadership..
• Impeccable results in a Marriott, Hyatt, IHG, Hilton, or similar brand.
• Strong financial acumen including P&L review, Budget creation, and cost controls. Ability to develop leaders into these skills.
• Strong hotel Revenue Management, digital/e-commerce and commercial strategy experience.
• Working knowledge of OPERA/Opera Cloud or comparable PMS system
• Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills.
• Able to deliver exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction.
• Team player, professional, and lead with integrity
• Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to Speak Japanese- Highly preferred
• Engaged, authentic, and prepared to prospect, sell, and maintain accounts to positively impact revenues for a "best in class" hotel!
