Job summary

Abode Money is seeking a General Manager to own Insurance end-to-end, overseeing production, profitability, licensing, carrier relationships, service, and compliance. You will inherit an install base of 50k+ households and lead the build-out of agency partnerships, licensed teams, and a robust licensing framework across multiple states.

The role requires 7+ years in P&C insurance distribution, active multi-state licensing, and a hands-on approach to agency management systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in P&C insurance distribution, incl. running an agency or insurtech operation.
• Active P&C producer license with multi-state licensure experience.
• Direct experience with carrier appointments and commissions.
• Proven track record hiring and ramping licensed producers.
• Hands-on with an agency management system and rate-comparison tools.
• Comfort using AI tools to optimize workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the Insurance P&L with revenue and unit economics; drive state-by-state growth.
• Recruit, license, onboard, coach, and manage licensed producers and service staff.
• Negotiate affiliate terms, select aggregators, and build carrier routing plans.
• Steer licensing across ten states including education and E&O compliance.
• Design servicing model, set response-time standards, and manage retention.
• Define metrics and report production, lead-to-bound, retention, and costs.
