Job summary

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a General Manager, Grocery Operations for a long-standing and nationally recognized food and bakery supply organization serving grocery, bakery, and foodservice customers. This is a full-time onsite leadership opportunity located in St.

Joseph, MO. The General Manager will oversee all branch operations including team leadership, customer relationships, inventory, warehouse operations, transportation, sales partnership, and overall business

Qualifications

• Hands-on leader with grocery/retail/foodservice operations experience.
• Proven ability to develop teams and drive business growth.
• Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day branch operations including warehouse, logistics, customer service, staffing, inventory management, and operational performance
• Partner with sales leadership to strengthen customer relationships and support organic growth
• Oversee labor planning, operational KPIs, inventory control, margin performance, and branch profitability
• Coach, mentor, and develop managers and staff while fostering a team-oriented culture
• Build relationships with key customers through proactive communication and site engagement
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and best practices
