Job summary

San Simeon Community Services District is recruiting a General Manager to oversee administrative services, facilities, finances and overall district operations. Qualifications

• Knowledge of Community Service Districts general principles
• Experience in government management at city/county/state or special districts
• Understanding of public administration
• Ability to prepare agendas and staff reports
• Knowledge of water and wastewater operations
• Experience with budgeting and financial management
• Familiarity with government procurement services
• Knowledge of county operations and permitting processes
• Understanding California Coastal Commission permitting requirements

Responsibilities

• Supervise District administrative services, facilities, finances, and staff
• Attend and participate in Board and Reorganization Committee meetings monthly
• Oversee day-to-day contractual services for potable water and wastewater, including filtration and potential desalination
• Ensure on-site presence at the District office and facilities; manage after-hours coverage
• Liaise with County, LAFCO, California Coastal Commission, state parks, and nearby communities
• Supervise the District's bookkeeper and administrative staff
• Implement Board policies for District operations and district dissolution proceedings
