Job summary

Midland-Marvel Recruiters, LLC is seeking a General Manager for a 30-40-press injection molding facility in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The role combines hands-on leadership on the shop floor with full P&L accountability and deep fluency in injection molding and IATF 16949 quality systems to drive profitability.

The GM will manage resin cost volatility, lead audits for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, and push process improvements, NPI for lightweighting and EV programs, and PPAP submissions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in plastics injection molding.
• 3–5 years in plant manager, operations manager, or GM role in automotive components.
• Experience supplying US-based OEMs (GM, Ford, Stellantis, or equivalents) preferred.
• Comfort on the shop floor troubleshooting process issues and leading audits.
• Strong understanding of resin price volatility and cost-control strategies.

Responsibilities

• Own the plant P&L, including budgeting, CapEx planning, and cost-control strategy.
• Monitor resin price volatility and drive countermeasures through formulation optimization, process improvement, and supplier negotiation.
• Lead cost-down initiatives for scrap rate, cycle time, and OEE.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001; lead OEM and Tier 1 audits (including VDA 6.3).
• Own 8D problem solving and drive root-cause analysis using SPC, MSA, FMEA.
• Support NPI for lightweighting and EV programs; ensure PPAP submissions are completed and approved on schedule.
• Manage customer scorecards and maintain relationships with OEM/Tier 1 contacts.
• Direct scheduling and maintenance for 30-40 presses; drive SMED to reduce changeover time and improve OEE.
• Enforce Scientific Molding; resolve processing challenges with engineering resins.
• Oversee mold management: PM schedules, mold life tracking, and coordination of external mold repair and modification to minimize downtime.
