About the Job
The role of General Manager is to oversee all operations during the shift, ensuring that the store runs efficiently, customers receive outstanding service, and financial controls are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire shift, including cost controls, inventory control, cash control, and customer relations.
- Set the example for the crew, enforce all policies and procedures, and hold staff accountable to the same standards.
- Staff scheduling, staff training, and paperwork management.
- Maintain inventory, control food costs, and ensure timely restocking.
- Adhere to a schedule, maintain store cleanliness, and promote a “perfect image.”
- Provide great customer service and manage attendance & punctuality.
- Ensure transportation to/from work is available and used responsibly.
- Execute marketing initiatives and maintain profitability.
General Job Duties for All Store Team Members
- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, walk‑in cooler, and work area.
- Prepare product and receive/ process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Essential Functions & Skills
- Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division accurately and quickly.
- Provide correct monetary change.
- Communicate verbal, written and telephone instructions to customers and co‑workers.
- Display motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid, accurate movements.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Navigate maps, addresses, adverse terrain, multi‑story buildings, and delivery sites.
- Work in varying temperature ranges, handling hot surfaces and sharp edges.
- Operate delivery vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver’s licence and insured vehicle.
Work Conditions
- Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks.
- In‑store temperatures from 36 °F to above 90 °F in some work areas.
- Premature temperature changes, exposure to fumes from food odors, and cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters, hot surfaces up to 500 °F, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
