A rapidly growing, innovative food production organization is seeking a highly accomplished General Manager to lead one of its key operational facilities in Washington State. This executive-level role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations, including production, packing, warehousing, quality, food safety, labor management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Overview
The General Manager has overall responsibility for the daily operation and performance of the facility. This leader will ensure production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, operating costs are controlled, and safety and food safety requirements are consistently achieved.
The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to align operations with business objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Direct and oversee daily operations across harvesting, packing, shipping, warehousing, and related functional areas.
- Ensure production goals, quality requirements, and customer expectations are met consistently.
- Maintain accountability for facility performance, labor utilization, operating expenses, and productivity metrics.
- Lead efforts to improve operational efficiency through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ensure facilities, equipment, and operational areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
- Analyze operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Strategic Planning & Business Performance
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor operating budgets and forecasts.
- Drive initiatives that improve profitability, productivity, and overall business performance.
- Lead capital planning efforts and evaluate investments in equipment, technology, and facility improvements.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support organizational growth and long-term objectives.
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities to enhance systems, workflows, and operational processes.
- Implement operational changes that improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
- Support new product launches, process development, and technology implementation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful scaling of new products and operational capabilities.
Quality, Food Safety & Compliance
- Partner with Quality and Food Safety leadership to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drive a culture of quality, food safety, and operational excellence.
- Ensure adherence to established food safety, sanitation, and quality programs.
- Promote workplace safety and regulatory compliance across all facility operations.
Leadership & Talent Development
- With the assistance HR with the recruit, develop, and retain high-performing leaders and employees.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to management teams.
- Establish clear expectations, performance goals, and accountability measures.
- Foster employee engagement and a positive, results-oriented workplace culture.
- Partner with Human Resources to support workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 10+ years of operations, manufacturing, food production, or related industry leadership experience.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience managing managers and/or supervisors.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale operations with accountability for productivity, quality, cost, and workforce performance.
- Experience managing budgets, operational planning, and performance metrics.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
