Job description

Dogtopia, the industry leader in dog daycare, boarding, and spa services, has an immediate opening for an energetic, organized, and business-minded individual to lead our team as General Manager. This role requires a management and operations background, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and creating a great environment for dogs in our care. A love for dogs is essential — and upon successful training, you may even bring your own dog to work!

Customer Service and Presentation

  • Maintain a neat and organized front desk and team area, ensuring professional appearance.
  • Lead by example with the 3 S's: Smile, Story, Satisfaction, and hold the team accountable to service standards.
  • Engage team members in their duties and strive for high customer review ratings.
  • Foster a positive team environment, encourage growth, and have fun!
Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
  • Manage groomers, including quality control, safety, scheduling, and client records.
  • Utilize training to address issues like injuries, billing, or complaints.
  • Control expenses within budgets, forecast, track supplies, minimize payroll costs, and seek efficiency improvements.
  • Develop revenue growth through up-selling and dog evaluations.
  • Communicate proactively with the District Manager regarding concerns or needs.
  • Ensure quality of care standards are met for all dogs.
Team Management
  • Create staffing schedules and monitor daily operations.
  • Maintain optimal staffing levels and support employee development.
  • Lead by example, coaching staff to foster a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Conduct performance reviews and recognize employee achievements.
  • Onboard new employees with proper training.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment, adhering to safety and cleaning standards.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning, dog, and first aid supplies.
  • Address behavioral issues proactively and monitor action plans to retain staff and dogs.
