Job summary

Zaxby’s in Sanford, AL seeks a General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, drive sales, and maintain profitability while upholding our service standards.

You will supervise 2–5 managers and 15–50 employees, schedule weekly shifts, monitor food quality, and mentor staff to deliver Encore Experiences that enrich lives for every guest. Responsibilities include reviewing P&L with the District Manager and coordinating local store marketing.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 1 yr. experience managing people in a restaurant environment.
• Preferred 1 year employment by Zaxby’s.
• ZU certified.

GENERAL MANAGER

DEFINITION

To manage a Zaxby’s unit toward the attainment of agreed upon sales and profit goals, working within the framework of company values and policies. Responsible for day to day operations of their store location.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direction and reports to their District Manager.

Exercises direct supervision of 2-5 managers and 15-50 employees.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

1. 1. Increase sales by providing outstanding product and service.
2. 2. Write an effective work schedule each week and post it by 5 pm on Friday.
3. 3. Work lunch, dinner, and weekends, monitoring quality of food and service.
4. 4. Ensure restaurant is 100% staffed with quality Team Members.
5. 5. Ensure full implementation of new employee orientation and training programs.
6. 6. Review the performance of all Team Members, Shift Managers and Assistant Managers two times per year.
7. 7. Execute all Systems daily to ensure a clean, organized restaurant, prepared to deliver quality food in a friendly environment.
8. 8. Purchase food, beverages and supplies as needed and oversee their preparation to ensure that every product served meets our high standards of product quality.
9. 9. Operate in accordance with established performance, profits, and operating standards as set out in the Operation Manuals.
10. 10. Supervise and motivate Team Members, Shift Managers, and Assistant Managers to perform to their highest possible level of ability.
11. 11. Have a good working knowledge of all equipment and assume responsibility for preventive maintenance of a unit.
12. 12. Maintain high standards of service throughout the operational day by leading by example.
13. 13. Utilize all management tools to keep neat, accurate and current records providing the historical data to plan for increased sales and profits.
14. 14. Ensure all marketing plans are executed on time and accurately to build repeat customer visits.
15. 15. Responsible for initiating and implementing approved Local Store Marketing.
16. 16. Review profit and loss statements and progress toward goals with the District Manager. Take action to solve problems as necessary.
17. 17. Communicate openly and honestly with subordinates, superiors, and all others about plans, progress, and problems.
18. 18. Continually help develop Assistant Managers in the operation of an Zaxby’s unit and prepare them for General Manager responsibility.
19. 19. Provide leadership by creating excitement, enthusiasm, a positive mental attitude, and commitment toward company objectives.
20. 20. Responsible for increasing sales and making a profit.
21. 21. Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. 1. Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Minimum 1 yr. experience managing people in a restaurant environment

Preferred 1 year employment by Zaxby’s.

ZU certified.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Restaurant environment: work with advanced kitchen and front-of-house operational equipment; hazardous conditions.

Office environment: work with computer and office equipment.

Essential job functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
