Sanctuary Hotel in New York City is seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead our team and elevate guest experiences. You will direct all daily operations, drive financial performance, and uphold our boutique brand standards with a hands-on leadership style.

The role requires 5+ years in boutique/luxury hotel management, strong budgeting and revenue skills, and the ability to motivate managers and front-line staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive hotel management experience in boutique/luxury environments.
• Experience managing budgets, P&L statements, forecasting, and revenue performance.
• New York City experience is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on management style with passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of daily hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.
• Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and team members while fostering a positive, accountable work environment.
• Drive revenue, profitability, and overall hotel performance through financial management and strategic planning.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, labor costs, and operating expenses while maximizing profitability.
• Monitor KPIs including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, guest satisfaction, and labor productivity.
• Collaborate with ownership to execute business objectives and operational initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and brand identity.
• Coordinate with Food & Beverage leadership for seamless operations between hotel and dining venues.

What you will be doing

• Address guest concerns proactively and create memorable experiences that encourage repeat business.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, increase revenue, and strengthen team performance.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, employment, and hospitality regulations.

What you bring to the table

• Minimum 5 years of progressive hotel management experience, including significant leadership experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Hotel Manager.
• Strong background in boutique, lifestyle, upscale, or luxury hotel environments.
• Experience managing hotel operations in a competitive urban market; New York City experience is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, P&L statements, forecasting, and revenue performance.
• Strong understanding of Rooms Division operations, guest services, housekeeping, and hotel maintenance.
• Experience working with Food & Beverage operations is a plus.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A hands-on management style with a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Ability to thrive in a high-energy environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
• A results-driven mindset with the ability to balance guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and profitability.
