Job summary

Goldfish Swim School in Montgomery, AL seeks an experienced operations leader to oversee daily school performance, staffing, pool operations, and customer service. You will lead the team to ensure safety, high-quality instruction, and positive guest experiences while managing payroll, training and daily administrative tasks.

The role emphasizes staff development, compliance with safety procedures, and delivering exceptional value to families through engaging swim programs and community

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications or equivalent desired.
• Three to five years management experience preferred.
• Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED and Certified Pool Operator certifications required or be able to obtain within 90 days; Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations to ensure school runs per SOPs.
• Manage staff to ensure productivity, performance and satisfaction.
• Train and supervise staff to provide superior swim instruction and customer service; oversee class scheduling, student progress and training.
• Provide sales and marketing training to qualified staff.
• Oversee retail and vending departments to ensure proper product mix and pricing.

Summary:

Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School daily operations including staffing, pool operations, customer service, retail and vending department, private party operations, workplace employee activities amongst other duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running per GSS standard operating procedures.
2. Manages the staff of the GSS location(s) to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfaction.
3. Trains and oversees all staff to provide superior swim instruction to the students of GSS and the highest level of customer service. Interacts with the staff on all issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training.
4. Provides sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff.
5. Provides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved.
6. Trains and oversees private party staff to ensure that the GSS standard operating procedures are being maintained.
7. Gains knowledge and experience in all technology to achieve a high level of competence in customer maintenance, bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions.
8. Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
9. Manages financial responsibilities including weekly cash deposits, cash reconciliation, tilling off process, financial documentation, and budgeting.
10. Initiates and oversees workplace culture and employee interaction. Maintain a high level of employee satisfaction.
11. Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility. Trains all current staff on the GSS EAP.
12. Gains knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment including proper pool chemistry and pump room operation.
13. Maintains current required certifications for self and all staff.
14. Schedules staff and manages payroll.
15. Expert in all roles and responsibilities in the swim school
16. Work 1 shift per week in a lifeguard/swim instructor capacity
17. Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications or equivalent is desired. Experience as youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor or aquatics instructor/supervisor is preferred. Three to five years management experience is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED and Certified Pool Operator certifications required or be able to obtain these certifications within 90 days of start date. Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred.

Work Environment:

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
