Job summary

Goldfish Swim School - Lake Ridge is seeking a General Manager to lead our swim school operations, train and motivate a successful team, coordinate class schedules and ensure a school is set up for success at every lesson. You will guide new team members and families through their first days as they progress in our program.

You will bring 7+ years of leadership experience, strong coaching skills, and a focus on membership sales and retention.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of leadership experience overseeing teams of young adults.
• Sales and/or membership sales and retention skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with accountability.
• Problem solving and decision making to balance business needs and customer outcomes.
• Ability to implement Emergency Action Plan and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive staff culture from day 1 with open, honest communication.
• Train a team to deliver high-quality work aligned with Goldfish Swim School’s values.
• Make ethical decisions and treat people with integrity and trust.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure school runs per standard operating procedures.
• Train staff and align enrollment goals with targets.
• Gain competency in class bookings, scheduling, reporting and curriculum.

A General Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of our swim lessons by training, managing and motivating a successful team, coordinating and reviewing class schedules and ensuring you have a school that’s set up for success at every lesson. You’ll guide new team members and families through their first days at Goldfish and be there to support them as they progress in our program and in life.

Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to:

• Provide a positive staff culture from day 1 and offering open, honest communication in a positive and nurturing environment
• Train a team who provides the same quality work as you and doing quality work yourself by representing Goldfish Swim School’s core values
• Do the right things, making the right decisions and treating people with integrity, compassion and trust
• Understand and lead the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to Goldfish Swim School’s standard operating procedures
• Provide training to staff and stay on track with enrollment goals and any subsequent goals intended to measure success
• Gain high level competency in class bookings, scheduling, reporting and administrative functions as well as the Goldfish Swim School curriculum, swim lesson quality standards and safety standards

We provide thorough training and operational support, but here are the skills we’re looking for:

• 7+ years of leadership experience and a passion for coaching young adults in the early stages of employment
• Sales and/or membership sales and retention skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, conflict resolution skills and someone adept at leading and holding others accountable
• Problem solving skills, understanding of decision making and what’s best for both the business and the customer
• Ability to direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures for the school
• This position maintains a set schedule Saturday-Wednesday (closed Thursday/Friday)
