Job summary

Sunset Kai Lanai, located in Kailua, Hawaii, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of our full-service restaurant operations. You will be fully accountable for guest experience, team leadership, financial performance, cleanliness, and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hands-on leadership of both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, strict adherence to standards, and proactive cost control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous full-service restaurant management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage financial performance, labor, and inventory.
• Must pass a background check.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math and computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and smooth execution.
• Lead, coach, and manage all front-of-house and back-of-house team members.
• Step in as needed to perform duties of cook, line server, or cashier.
• Control food, beverage, and labor costs using sales- and inventory-driven strategies.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with all corporate, local, and municipal regulations.
• Manage all financial controls, cash handling, reporting, and security.
• Address and resolve guest and employee concerns professionally and effectively.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $90,000 – $100,000, depending on experience
• Bonus Potential: Opportunity to earn a monthly performance bonus up to $19,000

Work Environment & Schedule

• Minimum commitment of 50 hours per week
• Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Shifts may range from early mornings to late nights

• Work performed in limited spaces and hot kitchen conditions
• Must have reliable transportation and meet administrative driving requirements
