Job description

Nuvara is a small business that develops hardware and software solutions designed to optimize how medications and supplies are managed in healthcare facilities. Our products help healthcare organizations securely store, manage, and transport medications and supplies efficiently, accurately, and safely.

We are seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and help ensure the business delivers reliably to customers. This is a broad, cross-functional role that works closely with Engineering, Quality, Sales, Accounting, suppliers, and customers.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems hands-on, managing multiple priorities, working across functions, and improving the systems and processes that keep a growing company running.

What You'll Do
Operations & Supply Chain
  • Lead and be a hands-on contributor in day-to-day operations across purchasing, receiving, shipping, inventory, warehouse management, incoming inspection, nonconforming material, assembly, refurbishment, prototyping, final product testing, and inspection.
  • Issue RFQs, evaluate supplier responses, create purchase orders, and manage supplier follow-up.
  • Proactively monitor purchase orders, supplier commitments, and delivery dates and communicate potential risks before they become problems.
  • Coordinate among suppliers, Operations, Engineering, Product, Sales, and customers regarding purchasing, production, and delivery needs.
  • Manage inventory and warehouse activities.
  • Develop and track operational KPIs, including supplier performance and quality.
  • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Execute and maintain operational transactions and records in ERP, eQMS, project-management, and other business systems.
  • Manage facility operations, equipment maintenance and calibration, supplies, and related administrative needs.
  • Manage the company's IT systems and external IT service provider, including system availability, cybersecurity, user access, and issue resolution.
  • Lead, manage, and collaborate with bookkeepers & CPAs. Provide timely and accurate operational documentation to support accounting and bookkeeping activities.
  • Lead cross-functional projects by establishing scope, priorities, responsibilities, timelines, and deliverables and driving them through completion.
  • The role is expected to operate within applicable ISO, OSHA, FDA, EHS, quality-system, and company requirements.
  • Support new product development and new product introduction activities.
  • Build and coordinate in-house prototypes.
  • Identify and manage fabrication and prototype suppliers.
  • Purchase materials and components required for prototypes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to improve product manufacturability.
  • Lead Design Transfer activities for new products and design changes.
  • Help establish suppliers, manufacturing processes, work instructions, inspection criteria, assembly records, production test fixtures, and other required production controls.
  • Work with suppliers to continuously improve manufacturing and product assembly processes.
Customer Account Management, Support, & Order Coordination
  • Process customer orders from quotation through invoicing.
  • Prepare quotes, sales orders, acknowledgements, fulfillment documentation, and related records.
  • Coordinate customer shipments, delivery logistics, and documentation.
  • Confirm product availability, shipment timing, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Provide customers with accurate status updates and elevate issues that could affect commitments.
  • Serve as a primary administrative point of contact for routine customer needs.
  • Coordinate field service activities.
  • Track customer requests and issues through resolution.
  • Manage customer feedback and return material authorization (RMA) processes.
  • Support customer onboarding, project coordination, and post-delivery follow-up.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is organized, resourceful, proficient with technology, and willing to get directly involved in solving operational problems.

Successful candidates should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, quality, operations, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience leading business operations, warehouse operations, or a comparable cross-functional function.
  • 1+ year of experience addressing manufacturing or supply-chain challenges in a time-sensitive, customer-driven environment.
  • Working knowledge of operations, manufacturing, supply-chain, and Lean concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify schedule risks, resource constraints, scope creep, and downstream impacts and communicate them clearly.
  • Experience with RFQs, purchase orders, supplier management, shipping, and logistics preferred.
  • Strong planning, leadership, organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills; experience with ERP and eQMS systems preferred.
  • Ability to define useful KPIs and work with dashboards, reporting, and operational data.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and at all levels of a small organization.
Technology & Continuous Improvement

We expect this person to actively look for better ways to work. That includes embracing automation, AI, analytics, and system capabilities to reduce repetitive manual work, improve accuracy and visibility, and create scalable operational processes.

This is a hands-on, on-site position working across office, engineering lab, warehouse, and light-manufacturing environments.

The role supervises operational staff and may also lead cross-functional teams and projects without direct reporting authority. Occasional business travel may be required.

The position may require occasional lifting or movement of products, packages, equipment, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Why This Role Matters

This position sits at the center of Nuvara's operations. You'll have direct visibility into how products move from prototype to production to customer delivery and will have meaningful responsibility for improving the systems, suppliers, processes, and coordination that make that happen.

Responsibilities may evolve as Nuvara's products, customers, and business needs change.
