Job summary

Nusano seeks an Inventory Control Specialist to maintain accurate and organized inventory across engineering, operations, facilities, and maintenance. This onsite role handles transactions, cycle counts, reconciliations, labeling, replenishment, and reporting to support production readiness.

Responsibilities include verifying incoming materials, maintaining records and barcode labeling, collaborating with Procurement and Warehouse, and driving continuous improvements in inventory processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in related field.
  • Three or more years of inventory control experience.
  • Experience with ERP/inventory management systems.
  • Experience with physical inventories, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Consolidate and organize inventory across the facility using established practices.
  • Create and maintain accurate item records, descriptions, classifications, locations, and barcode labels.
  • Process inventory transactions including receiving, stocking, issuing, transferring, adjusting, and retiring materials.
  • Verify incoming materials for quantity, description, and condition and record transactions accurately.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and formal reconciliations at least twice annually.
  • Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain traceability and chain of custody for critical components.
  • Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, lead times; maintain reorder points and safety stock; notify Procurement when replenishment is required.
  • Coordinate inventory movement between departments and storage locations.
  • Support new product introduction and inventory planning.
  • Analyze inventory levels and accuracy metrics using Excel.
  • Maintain inventory reports, dashboards, and audit documentation.
  • Recommend practical improvements to inventory processes and systems.

Job description

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist maintains accurate, organized, and reliable inventory to support Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Maintenance, and other departments. This onsite role performs and controls inventory transactions, cycle counts, reconciliations, barcode labeling, replenishment activities, and inventory reporting.

Working cross-functionally with Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and Warehouse personnel, the Inventory Control Specialist helps centralize inventory, maintain availability of critical materials, resolve discrepancies, and improve inventory processes as Nusano's operations grow.

Responsibilities
  • Consolidate and organize inventory across the facility using established storage, location, and inventory-control practices.

  • Create and maintain accurate item records, descriptions, classifications, storage locations, and barcode labels.

  • Process inventory transactions, including receiving, stocking, issuing, transferring, adjusting, and retiring materials.

  • Verify incoming materials for quantity, description, and condition and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.

  • Perform routine cycle counts and formal inventory reconciliations at least twice annually.

  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions within established procedures.

  • Maintain traceability and chain of custody for critical components and materials.

  • Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, and lead times; maintain reorder points and safety-stock levels; and notify Procurement when replenishment is required.

  • Coordinate inventory movement between departments and storage locations.

  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and Maintenance to identify current and future inventory requirements, including items that should transition into centralized inventory.

  • Support new product introduction, maintenance activities, and operational readiness through inventory planning and proactive management of material availability.

  • Analyze inventory levels, shortages, usage trends, and accuracy metrics using Microsoft Excel.

  • Maintain inventory reports, dashboards, reconciliation records, and audit documentation.

  • Recommend and implement practical improvements to inventory processes, controls, and systems.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, logistics, operations, or related field.

  • Three or more years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, materials management, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain.

  • Experience using an ERP or inventory management system.

  • Experience performing physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize and analyze inventory data.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and work independently within established processes.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with barcode systems and inventory labeling.

  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated environment.

  • Experience with Epicor, Maximo, or a similar ERP or inventory management system.

  • Knowledge of inventory planning, safety stock, and reorder-point methodologies.

  • Experience implementing inventory process improvements or system enhancements.

Physical Requirements
  • Work will be conducted in both an office environment and warehouse areas.

  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and frequently use a computer, keyboard, mouse, barcode scanner, and other inventory equipment.
