A large equipment dealership is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead one of its flagship operations in California. This leadership role is responsible for the overall success of the branch, including operational performance, financial results, customer satisfaction, employee development, and strategic growth across sales, parts, service, rental, and technology solutions.
The ideal candidate is a proven dealership leader with experience working in a dealership environment and managing one or more branches that generate $50 million or more in revenue

Responsibilities
- Lead the overall operations of the branch, ensuring strong performance across sales, parts, service, rental, and support departments
- Develop and execute business strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share
- Manage the branch's financial performance, including full P&L responsibility, budgeting, expense control, inventory management, and operational planning
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain department managers and employees while fostering a high-performance team culture
- Establish performance expectations and hold department leaders accountable for operational and financial results
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while identifying opportunities to expand business and strengthen market presence
- Monitor key dealership performance metrics, including labor efficiency, parts performance, rental utilization, inventory management, and overall branch profitability
- Promote collaboration between sales, service, parts, rental, and administrative teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational best practices
- Represent the organization within the local market through customer visits, community involvement, and industry events
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Branch Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar executive leadership role at a dealership within the equipment industries
- Proven success managing a multi-department dealership or branch with full P&L responsibility
- Strong leadership experience overseeing sales, service, parts, rental, and operational teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, improve profitability, and execute strategic business initiatives
- Experience managing large teams and developing high-performing leaders
- Strong financial acumen with experience analyzing business metrics, budgets, inventory, and operational performance
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Customer-focused with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience
