Job summary

Auberge du Soleil in California seeks a General Manager to lead the property and align with our luxury standards and values. You will coach teams, attract talent, and cultivate a culture of hospitality that resonates with guests, owners, and the Auberge Collection.

You will drive strategy, guest experiences, and financial performance while partnering with leadership to elevate well-designed experiences across F&B, wellness, and membership initiatives for high-net-worth guests.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years progressive experience in luxury hotel operations management as a General Manager.
  • Experience cultivating relationships with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and discerning global clientele.
  • Proven ability to lead luxury membership ecosystems and private clubs.
  • Sophisticated understanding of member engagement and social programming.
  • Demonstrates a savvy approach to business operations with innovative thinking for unique challenges.
  • Previous experience managing independently branded luxury hotels, with strong F&B and club membership management.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage ownership relationships and partner with Auberge Collection.
  • Develop strategy and business plan to deliver best-loved luxury operator status.
  • Guide guest experiences through food & beverage outlets, amenities, product selection, partnerships, and space activation.
  • Develop recruitment and employer branding strategy for local market.
  • Build a culture of trust, pride and employee advocacy and engagement.
  • Oversee guest experience from Pre-Arrival to Post-Departure for high service levels.
  • Ensure financial targets are met with accurate monthly forecasting.
  • Lead commercial strategy to drive revenue and act as sales champion with advisors, clients, media.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to maintain high standards across departments.
  • Champion new initiatives and take calculated risks to improve property performance.
  • Engage with local community and high society to embed the property regionally.
  • Play pivotal role in launching and programming the new membership club.
  • Elevate on-property activations in wellness, arts, culture to attract broader demographics.
  • Evolve service style to cater to next-gen consumers.

Job Description

The General Manager will be responsible for leading a team to drive extraordinary performance in all areas of the hotel operation. This role sets the strategic direction ensuring alignment with our luxury standards and values. Serves as the coach and champion of all team members, attracting new talent, developing their skills, and creates a positive and enriching culture on property. This role is a consummate host – serving as the Ambassador and key spokesperson for the hotel, nurturing relationships with team members, hotel owners and within the community.

  • Working directly for ownership, effectively manage the owner relationships, and act in partnership with Auberge Collection
  • Oversee the development of the strategy and business plan to deliver our objective of being the best-loved operator of one of a kind luxury hospitality and experiences.
  • Responsible for initiating, facilitating, and guiding well-designed and creatively curated guest experiences unique to the property through the food & beverage outlets, other amenities, product selection, partner alignment, and space activation.
  • Develop the recruitment and employment brand strategy to become the employer of choice in the local market
  • Build a rich culture of trust, pride and joy that will result in a high employee advocacy and team member engagement.
  • Oversee the creation and successful implementation of the guest experience - Pre-Arrival, Arrival, During The Stay, Departure and Post-Departure to ensure that our guests report the highest levels of personal and customized services.
  • Ensure that all financial targets are met as well as accurate monthly forecasting
  • Spearhead the commercial strategy to drive and increase revenue as well as be the sales champion and visible with most influential travel advisors, clients and media
  • Partner with your Executive leadership team to ensure each department is functioning with the highest standards of excellence
  • Champion new initiatives and take calculated risks to improve property performance
  • Actively engage with the local community, businesses, and high society to embed the property and region as a cultural and social landmark.
  • Play a pivotal role in introducing the new membership club, both in engagement strategy and ongoing programming
  • Elevate on property activations, including in wellness, arts, culture, to ensure that the property is appealing to a broader set of interest groups and demographics
  • While preserving the integrity of the offering, ensure that it evolves to better cater to next gen consumers through adjustments to service style, offerings etc.

  • Demonstrates robust experience in operations, particularly in F&B and club membership management.
  • Agile and solution-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to navigate dynamic environments.
  • Strong involvement with the local community
  • International exposure that enriches brand positioning.
  • Ability to create and sustain a culturally relevant luxury environment that resonates with global tastemakers, members, and guests.

Competitive Compensation; target base salary of $300k-$325k plus incentives, comprehensive medical and other key benefits
