Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking a General Maintenance Worker III – Lead to supervise maintenance across facilities at FLETC Charleston and Naval Weapons Station. You will coordinate daily tasks, perform skilled trades, and ensure safety and contract standards.

Requirements include 5+ years in building maintenance with lead experience, multi-trade knowledge, blueprints reading ability, and the capacity to lift up to 50 lbs. A high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recent experience in general building maintenance, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and related trades.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied indoor/outdoor environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of General Maintenance Workers; assign tasks and monitor performance.
  • Perform skilled maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, minor electrical work, and repairs to facilities and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance checks to ensure facility readiness.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and coordinate with supervisors for reordering.
  • Interpret work orders and technical manuals to plan repairs and prioritize tasks.
  • Ensure staff follow OSHA safety regulations and contract requirements.
  • Report progress and deficiencies to the AFOM or Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Support emergency repairs and after-hours facility calls when necessary.

Job Title: General Maintenance Worker III - Lead
Salary:

$26.05 per hour + $5.09 Per Hour (H/W) = $31.14 per hour (Salary may be negotiable and may be increased based on relevant experience and qualifications.)

Job Summary:

Lead and perform a wide range of general building maintenance tasks across FLETC Charleston and Naval Weapons Station. As LAUKOA’s General Maintenance Worker III – Lead, you will supervise maintenance personnel, coordinate daily assignments, and ensure efficient, safe completion of corrective and preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with the contract’s performance standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of General Maintenance Workers; assign tasks and monitor performance.
  • Perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, minor electrical work, and repairs to facility structures and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks to ensure facility readiness.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and coordinate with supervisors for reordering.
  • Interpret work orders and technical manuals to plan repairs and prioritize tasks.
  • Ensure staff follow OSHA safety regulations and PWS Section C-5.B requirements.
  • Report progress and deficiencies to the AFOM or Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Support emergency repairs and after-hours facility calls when necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience (within the past 10 years) in general building maintenance, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Working knowledge of multiple trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied indoor/outdoor environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to obtain a favorable adjudication via a DHS background investigation and maintain suitability clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with work authorization.
  • This position may require the operation of Company-provided vehicles.
    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, maintaining a valid driver’s license in good standing is a condition of employment.
    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, employee must comply with all Company vehicle use and safety policies, as well as all applicable traffic laws.

  • Work Hours are 0700 – 1600 with availability to be on-call outside of work hours.
    • Work schedules are determined by management and may be modified at any time based on business needs, contractual obligations, and operational requirements.
