Job summary

Qualifications

• Hang doors and install door locks; assist with lockouts, battery changes and rekeying cards.
• Replace broken windowpanes.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Maintain flexibility for on-call rotations, possible overtime, and weekend work.
• Perform other duties as required.

General Maintenance Worker - Hruska Courthouse - Omaha, Nebraska

Position Summary:This position performs general maintenance of buildings and equipment requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and key card locks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum requirements for this position include a High School Diploma or equivalent GED plus a minimum of three (3) years general mechanical, electrical, carpentry, or maintenance experience within the past 4 years. Completion of a technical / vocational school in general maintenance skills or comparable training such as military/industry, experience may be an equivalent substitute. A valid Georgia Driver's License and ability to maintain military gate pass access are required. Experience performing preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery. Experience responding to and completing repairs on Demand Maintenance Orders (DMOs).

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally be required to lift more than 50 pounds. The employee must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work environment will require on-call rotation.
