Akima, LLC seeks a General Maintenance Worker to perform maintenance and repairs requiring mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills. The role involves various tasks, including repairing sinks, painting, and assisting skilled trades. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in similar duties, ensuring quality maintenance of facilities.
The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: Replacing electrical receptacles, switches, fixtures and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks and clearing blocked sewer drainage lines, water coolers and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
High school diploma or its equivalent. May be substituted with 5 years of direct experience in general maintenance and repair activities.
Requires 2 years’ experience in general maintenance and repair activities. Work includes preventive maintenance activities, assisting skilled trade’s workers and/or repairing various equipment and structures.
Possess specific knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures used in maintenance and repair.
California Driver’s License.
Desired Qualifications:
2 years’ experience in general maintenance and repair activities.
Possess the ability to perform complex assignments, independence in carrying out tasks and responsibility for the final completion of work.
