Job Summary:

Bizzell US seeks an experienced General Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Maintenance and Management team at NASA AMES. The successful candidate will perform maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the JPL campus facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure longevity and reliability of equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to support campus operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Utilize hand and power tools, and specialized equipment.
• Maintain accurate work records and materials used.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of facilities maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of building systems, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Experience in high-tech or research facilities preferred.
• Maintenance trade certification is a plus.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is desirable.
• Knowledge of green building practices and sustainability initiatives is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged sitting and computer work.
• Lift up to 30 pounds.
