Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least 3 years of general maintenance experience, preferably in a government facility.
• Must have practical skill in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, electrical work.
• Able to climb ladders, crouch, crawl, and handle objects.
• Able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
• Able to pass a government background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/replace light fixtures, motors and patch holes in walls/ceilings.
• Repair/replace sinks, water coolers, toilets, urinals; paint structures/equipment.
• Repair/replace stone pavers/steps; hang doors; install locks; replace broken window cranks.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery as required.
• Housekeeping of mechanical spaces and rooms; move furniture/equipment.
• Perform semiskilled and skilled duties in other maintenance trades.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

The General Maintenance Worker provides for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of equipment, systems at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.

Key Job Functions

• Maintain Replaces light fixtures, motors, using joint compound to patch holes and cracks in walls and ceilings


• Repairs or replaces sink faucets, water coolers, toilets, urinals, paints structures and equipment


• Repairs or replaces stone pavers/steps, hangs doors and installs door locks, and replaces broken window cranks


• Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery as required


• Performs housekeeping of mechanical spaces and rooms


• Moves furniture and equipment


• Perform semiskilled and skilled duties in other maintenance trade areas; and do other work as assigned or required.


• Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent


• At least 3 yeas of general maintenance experience preferably within a government facility


• Requires practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and electrical work.


• Must be able to climb ladders, be capable of crouching, crawling, grasping and handling objects


• Must be able to pick up and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.


• Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language


• Must be able to pass a government background check
