Job summary

Dexterra is hiring a General Maintenance Worker in Beltsville, MD to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment and systems at the CMI customer site. The role requires 3+ years of maintenance experience, a High School Diploma, and knowledge in various trades such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks including repairing sinks and fixture replacements, as well as general upkeep of facilities. Strong practical skills and the ability to lift 50 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform various maintenance skills including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.

Job Description

The General Maintenance Worker provides for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of equipment, systems at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.

Key Job Functions

• Maintain / replace light fixtures, motors, using joint compound to patch holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Repair or replace sink faucets, water coolers, toilets, urinals, paint structures and equipment.
• Repair or replace stone pavers/steps, hang doors and install door locks, and replace broken window cranks.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery as required.
• Perform housekeeping of mechanical spaces and rooms.
• Move furniture and equipment.
• Perform semi‑skilled and skilled duties in other maintenance trade areas; and do other work as assigned or required.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least 3 years of general maintenance experience preferably within a government facility.
• Requires practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and electrical work.
• Must be able to climb ladders, be capable of crouching, crawling, grasping and handling objects.
• Must be able to pick up and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to pass a government background check.
