Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician I to join our operations & maintenance team in New Albany, Ohio.

The General Maintenance Technician I is responsible for assisting higher level technicians in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on buildings and facilities equipment, fixtures, and systems in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the team with facility maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose malfunctions in production machinery and equipment with co-workers.
• Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot systems and equipment such as overhead door systems, pumps, piping, seals, and valves.
• Perform general maintenance tasks like painting and sign hanging.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance issues.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Follow safety guidelines including job hazard analysis, lockout/tag-out procedures, and PPE usage.
• Operate various equipment, including hand tools.
• Demonstrate flexibility in daily activities and scheduling for customer benefit.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of facility maintenance experience in relevant environments or equivalent education and experience.
• Ability to work in aerial or scissor lifts at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Additional Information:

• Must pass pre-employment substance abuse test.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License may be required.
• Ability to obtain a security access badge.
• May require various shifts, weekends, and alternative schedules.

Physical Requirements:

• Repetitive wrist movements.
• Extensive walking throughout facilities.
• Ability to read and understand documents and computer screens.
• Use of office equipment and computers.
• Potential travel to other locations, including air travel.
• Effective communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Maintain professionalism under stress.
