Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to join our military housing team at Fort Campbell, KY.

You will perform maintenance across rental units, offices, and grounds, handling mechanical, electrical, plumbing tasks and on-call after-hours emergencies.

Requirements include HS diploma or GED, 1-3 years experience, valid driver's license, basic trades skills, English literacy, and ability to use mobile work orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Less than 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
• A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet driving records standards.
• Basic competency in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades.
• Ability to provide basic tools and equipment necessary to perform daily duties.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Sharp customer service skills.
• Ability to read and write in English, to understand basic instructions and take direction from supervisors.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
• This position is located at a federal facility. REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID is required to access the federal facility.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls and complete maintenance requests.
• Transport, install and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers and other appliances.
• Load and unload trucks and other conveyances.
• Move supplies and materials to proper location.
• Stack materials for storage or binning collected refuse and salvageable materials.
• Transport equipment, furnishings and appliances to job sites.
• Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames.
• Dig, fill and tamp earth excavations; level grounds; operate power tools and lawn mowers.
• Remove floor tile, vinyl, ceramic tile and plywood.
• Remove damaged drywall.
• Clean rooftops, sidewalks and driveways of leaves and debris.
• Ensure work-site clean up.
• Respond to and complete on-call after hour emergency repairs.
• Update work order status with time, materials and notes on mobile devices.
• Complete and submit paperwork timely.
• Keep supervisor informed of activities and issues; suggest corrective actions.
• Maintain vehicle and inventory as prescribed.

About The Opportunity

WinnCompanies is looking for a General Maintenance Technician to join our military housing team in Fort Campbell, KY.

In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, office buildings, residential areas, grounds and parking lots. The ideal candidate will also perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitary systems and equipment.

In accordance with the REAL ID Act, effective May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID is required in order to access the federal facility.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls, complete Change of Occupancy Maintenance work and other property maintenance requests.
• Transport, install and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers and other electrical and gas appliances.
• Load and unload trucks and other conveyances.
• Move supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks.
• Stack materials for storage or binning collecting refuse and salvageable materials.
• Transport equipment, furnishings and appliances to job sites.
• Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames.
• Dig, fill and tamp earth excavations; level grounds using pick, shovel, tamper and rake; shovel concrete; clean culverts and ditches; cut tree and brush; operate power tools and lawn mowers.
• Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic floor tile and plywood.
• Remove damaged drywall.
• Operate power blowers or use brooms to clean roof tops, sidewalks and driveways of leaves and debris.
• Ensure work-site clean up.
• Respond to and complete on-call after hour emergency and urgent repairs.
• Update work order status including time, materials and notes on mobile devices provided in an accurate and timely manner.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Keep supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts, problems identified/potential problems, etc.; recommend corrective actions to supervisor.
• Maintain vehicle and vehicle inventory as prescribed.
