Job description

WinnCompanies is searching for an adaptable and dependable General Maintenance Technician to join our military housing team at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.

The primary responsibility is to perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, office buildings, residential areas, grounds, and parking lots. Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitary systems, and equipment. Ensure that all services are performed safely and result in favorable customer feedback, documented through customer service surveys.

This position is located at a federal facility. In accordance with the REAL ID Act, effective May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID is required to access the federal facility.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to service calls related to residential maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliances, to complete service and COM work and property management requirements.
  • Complete repairs as directed by immediate supervisor or other management representatives.
  • Transport, install, and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical and gas appliances.
  • Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites.
  • Repair and fabricate window screens, door screens, and door frames.
  • Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic floor tile, and plywood. Remove damaged drywall.
  • Respond to and complete on-call after-hour emergency and urgent repairs.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Update work order status, including time, materials, and notes on mobile devices.
  • Keep supervisor informed of activities, results, and potential problems, while recommending corrective actions.
  • Work cooperatively and conduct oneself professionally when in contact with customers, staff, sub/contractors, monitors, and the public.
  • Attend relevant workshops, seminars, meetings, and trainings.
  • Maintain vehicle and inventory as prescribed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • A current driver's license in good standing, meeting the company's safe driving standards
  • Proficiency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, or appliances
  • Ability to provide basic tools and equipment for daily duties
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with web-based applications
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to read and write in English for understanding instructions and taking directions
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
Preferred Qualifications
