Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to join our operations & maintenance team in Fontana, CA.

Schedule: Typically Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with minimal overtime and occasional weekend work for special projects. Hours may vary based on business needs.

Pay: $24.00/hour to $27.00/hour, depending on background, skills, & experience.

This role involves providing intermediate expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing emergency and preventive maintenance on building equipment, fixtures, and systems in a commercial campus environment.

Working under minimal supervision as part of a self-directed team, this multi-craft position may include equipment repairs, general non-licensed maintenance, and supporting licensed trades. Requires good knowledge of maintenance equipment and the ability to work within machine tolerances. Minor carpentry, painting, and sheet metal duties may also be required.

The technician must identify and correct safety issues and evaluate equipment to prevent failures. General maintenance of equipment is also required.

Responsibilities:

• Safely perform all tasks following safety guidelines, including hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and PPE usage.
• Operate, maintain, and repair facility and production equipment per regulations and standards.
• Analyze failures, inspect, replace, and maintain building equipment.
• Perform planned maintenance and respond to work orders promptly.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, hydraulic systems, water systems, and compressed air.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections.
• Develop and follow maintenance procedures, estimate jobs, and manage spare parts inventory.
• Assist with new equipment installation and servicing.
• Support project and renovation work with contractors, vendors, and team members.
• Comply with all regulations, codes, and safety practices.
• Use CMMS for scheduled maintenance and respond to service requests.
• Recommend improvements for maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to enhance energy efficiency.
• Use tools and computers to perform tasks effectively.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to meet customer needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of maintenance experience in trades such as HVAC, mechanical repair, or automotive repair, or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet using aerial or scissor lifts.
• Note: No sponsorship for U.S. work authorization is provided.

Additional Information:

• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to obtain security access at the client site.
• May require working various shifts, weekends, and alternate schedules.
