Job summary

Holiday Inn Club Vacations is seeking a Project Specialist to perform maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, drywall, cabinetry, and other trades at journeyman level. You will work in a team environment to repair guest villas and maintain facilities, following safety and company standards.

The role requires at least 3 years in maintenance; a range of skills in carpentry, painting, and related tasks; and strong knowledge of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of overall general maintenance experience required minimally.
  • HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing experience preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Property, facilities, and CRM proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret the facilities operations maintenance plan and schedule care tasks for guest villas and campus.
  • Assign tasks to internal and contractor resources and monitor performance against standards.
  • Serve as central facilities knowledge hub and coordinate with front desk, housekeeping, and guests.
  • Analyze data from facilities systems to identify trends and advise on improvements.
  • Conduct quality inspections and manage inventories; perform light maintenance duties.

Description

A project specialist who performs maintenance services and repairs in the areas of HVAC, plumbing, drywall, texture, tile, carpentry, painting, electrical, cabinetry, laminates, and appliance servicing at the journeyman level. This position is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures associated with industry and company standards.

The role requires at least 3 years of experience in the field or in related areas. GMT-III is familiar with a variety of these fields’ concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks, and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Work in a team environment to do repairs and prepare guest villas. Handle in-house repairs in areas that might include ceramic tiles, painting, repair and replacement of wallboard systems, wall vinyl, carpentry, cabinetry, laminates, and other related fields. Must have a working knowledge of hand and power tools required to accomplish all phases of projects. Must be able to perform highly skilled finish work in cabinetry, wall/ floor covering, and finishes, and laminate repair. Replaces glass and roofing and repairs outdoor decks, balconies, and other outdoor woodwork. Performs general maintenance duties as assigned by the leader. Must be able to follow written instructions and complete documentation associated with unit maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Interprets the facilities operations Way of Maintenance plan and facilities management strategies for managing the quality of guest condominiums, resort amenities and facilities, and campus grounds. Strategically schedules a range of facilities care work tasks described in the plan for the day and future days/weeks/months using the facilities operations system of record
  • Assigns scheduled and rapid-response work tasks to available skilled internal and contractor partner resources. Continually monitors work pace completion compared to established performance standards, reprioritizes and redirects work according to changing business conditions, and advises management on variance to standards
  • Serves as the central hub of facilities knowledge in the moment. Uses multiple modes of communication to connect frequently with guest services (front desk) staff, housekeeping, maintenance technicians, contractor partners, and resort guests for the collection and dissemination of business-critical information. Talks with resort guests to triage facilities issues, set service response expectations, and validate that work has been completed to quality control and guest expectations
  • Analyzes information from various systems of record (facilities operations, voice of the guest, CRM) to identify trends in compliance performance. Advises facilities, front office, and regional support on findings for process improvement solutions. Partners with resort Inventory Control on product trends, deficiencies, supply, and availability
  • Conducts quality inspections, maintains some critical inventories, performs periodic inventory counts, and performs light maintenance and administrative tasks as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Property, facilities, and customer relationship management system proficiency preferred
  • 3 years of overall general maintenance experience required minimally. Prior HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • HVAC Certificate required to handle refrigerant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service environments that include customer complaint handling and resolution techniques
  • Demonstrated experience in highly collaborative cross-functional work relationships that resulted in positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting multiple sources of data to prioritize competing and frequently changing work tasks for a field-based service or logistics team is preferred
