Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. is seeking a General Maintenance professional for Sage Lodge to uphold the property’s upkeep and ensure the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems run smoothly. The role features a noon–8pm shift, steady hands-on work, and a culture that supports growth and teamwork.

You will maintain building aesthetics, safety, and operate a range of tools to perform repairs across the hotel environment, with values-driven support from a national hospitality collective.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level experience or 2+ years in building maintenance.
• Must have valid driver license.
• General understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to perform painting, woodworking and general carpentry.
• Flexible and able to perform multiple tasks in stressful situations.
• Full availability and work shifts from noon to 8pm.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building’s appearance and ensure mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate properly.
• Ensure security, cleanliness, and preventive maintenance of tools, equipment, and safety features.
• Keep storerooms and work areas clean and orderly; store tools and parts properly.
• Care for tools and equipment used for tasks.
• Safely collect and transport waste to designated offsite station.
• Complete assigned work orders promptly.
• Respond to after-hours calls as needed.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

What you’ll do:

The Brass Tacks

• Maintain the building’s physical appearance and working order of the hotel as well as assistance of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing system functionality and general upkeep.
• Ensure the security, cleanliness, preventative maintenance and repair of all engineering department tools, equipment and safety features are in accordance with established procedures and budgets.
• Ensure all maintenance and engineering storerooms and work areas are kept in a clean and orderly manner and storing all tools, equipment and spare parts in proper location.
• Responsible for the proper treatment and care of tools and equipment used to perform tasks.
• Responsible for safe collection and transport of all property waste to the designated waste station offsite.
• Responsible to complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Respond to after-hour calls as necessary.
• Reports and addresses unsafe conditions immediately.
• Other tasks as assigned.

The Nitty Gritty

• Must be able to complete all types of work orders generated for engineering.
• Must have valid driver license.
• Must have a general understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Journeymen level experience or equivalent in a trade or 2+ years in building maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively perform painting, woodworking, and general carpentry.
• Ability to perform maintenance and general repair.
• Must have full availability and work shifts from noon to 8pm.
• Must have knowledge and the ability to operate tools, hand tools and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.
