Hyatt Regency New Orleans is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to maintain, repair and oversee upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, and meeting rooms. The role involves preventative maintenance, responding to service calls, and troubleshooting building systems to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

The ideal candidate has wide-ranging maintenance skills, good problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to guest service in a dynamic hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Technical experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration, paint & wallcovering.
• Excellent customer service experience expected.
• Good communication with guests, clients & hotel staff.
• Ability to follow safety and security policies and procedures.
• Two years hotel experience preferred; flexible schedule incl. weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

Join us for this incredible opportunity to be part of our Engineering team as a General Maintenance Engineer at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Located in the heart of downtown New Orleans and steps from Caesars Superdome, our hotel features more than 1,200 guest rooms and over 200,000 square feet of meeting and event space, making it one of the premier convention hotels in the region.

As a General Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, meeting rooms throughout the hotel. This hands-on position supports the day-to-day operation of the property by performing preventative maintenance, responding to guest service calls, troubleshooting building-related issues, and completing repairs across a variety of trades.

The ideal candidate will possess a broad maintenance background with experience in general building systems, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service are essential to success in this role.
