Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic for the PIPE SHOP in Norfolk, VA. You will perform general maintenance on building structures and systems, including floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, HVAC, and plumbing. You may rotate shifts and be on-call, with responsibilities across facility shops as needed.

Required: 2–3 years of maintenance experience and a VA or NC driver's license. Refrigerant recovery certification (Type I/II/Universal) preferred.

General Maintenance Mechanic PIPE SHOP

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Performs general maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structure and systems to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical electrical, plumbing and other items.

• This position is Mission Essential personnel at SNGH.
• Must live within 30 minutes of SNGH campus.
• Must be able to work rotating shift, rotating weekends and be on-call as required.

This position is assigned to the PIPE SHOP

• Support other Facility Shops as required
• Must have a VA or NC Drivers License
• Refrigerant Recovery certification Type I and Type II preferred or Universal preferred

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Trade School

Certification/Licensure

• Valid VA or NC Drivers License (In good standing)

Experience

• 2-3 years of Maintenance experience
• Commercial preferred
• Ability to assist with other Facility Shops (Electric/HVAC, Plumbing, etc.)
• Mission Essential Personnel

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $25.90 - $40.31 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
