Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an Electrician experienced in industrial or institutional wiring, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting. You will install, maintain and repair wiring systems, circuits and electrical equipment and perform tests to meet regulatory guidelines.
Virginia requirements include Master Electrician might be needed, 1 year of related training, NEC familiarity, and Journeyman's license by year end. On-site in Norfolk, local residency is expected.
The Electrician is experienced in industrial or institutional wiring, preventative maintenance and has a strong background in troubleshooting and repair. This individual installs, maintains and repairs wiring systems, circuits, electrical fixtures and electrical equipment using schematics, diagrams, blueprints. Responsibilities include conducting operational tests of the electrical systems; following operational and departmental guidelines; and for meeting all regulatory and compliance requirements.
Some facilities require Master Electrician (MELE). 1 year post-secondary/vocational training in electrical theory, circuitry, codes, and troubleshooting with courses in blueprint reading mechanical drawing, mathematics, electrical theory, and electrical work. Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) and the Statewide Building Code.
Journeyman's Electrician's License must be attained by the end of the first year of employment for those in Virginia
Position is On -Site at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk (Virginia)
Candidate must live within a 30 minute return to Hospital
Mission Essential Personnel. Must be able to work rotating weekends, on call as required
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $34.27 - $51.22 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
