Job summary

Hotel Irvine is seeking a General Maintenance B Engineer to maintain plumbing, electrical, HVACR, carpentry, and window/door systems within the hospitality facility. You will support guest services and profitability by ensuring safe, efficient operations and proactive maintenance.

Ideal candidates have hospitality industry exposure and basic math skills, with bilingual English/Spanish being helpful for cross-department communication.

• Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
• Adhere to safety standards and department guidelines.

The applicant will exude the personality of what it takes to work in the hospitality industry. General Maintenance B Engineer would be tasked with maintaining the proper functionality, safety, and emergency systems of the facility. As such you will be responsible for performing the following tasks listed below to the highest standards. By performing these tasks you will be directly involved with supporting Hotel Irvine’s ongoing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Communication is paramount; skills of both written and verbal should be utilized via any effective medium to disseminate information across the engineering department and other affected departments.

The General Maintenance B Engineer is required to work with all hotel departments, this individual has the innate ability to know what needs to be done, has the initiative and drive to do so, and can be done with little to no supervision. The General Maintenance B Engineer will adhere to the department standards as well as all applicable safety standards. Furthermore, follow up and guest satisfaction should be of the upmost importance and as an understanding of the vision and direction of Hotel Irvine.

Job Duties:

The General Maintenance B Engineer must be knowledgeable in the troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVACR, carpentry, window and door repairs. There must be a firm grasp of the hospitality industry and maintenance related issues. General Maintenance B Engineer will also be asked to assist in major repairs and improvements to the facility. They must complete their quota of preventative maintenance for the department, all the while contributing to the operating success of all other departments and guest activities.

Education and/or Experience- Experience in the hospitality industry or similar industry is helpful.

Mathematical Skills- Basic Math

Language Skills- Bilingual in English/Spanish is helpful. Ability to read and understand simple instructions. Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one or small group situation.

Reasoning Ability- Deductive/Inductive Reasoning, analysis reasoning and resourcefulness to know what is needed to accomplish a task.

Communication, people skills, organization skills, ability to handle multiple tasks.
